This red tulle dress debuted on the runway as Look 72 in Dolce & Gabbana’s Fall 2019 collection, Eleganza. The show was structured in chapters, each celebrating a defining code from the house’s near four decades of design. This romantic piece embodies many Dolce & Gabbana signatures: cut from a double layer of lipstick-red stretch-tulle, it is ruched throughout to sculpt and flatter the figure.3/4 length sheer sleeves finish just to the elbows, offering a delicate glimpse of skin, while the fully boned, corseted bodice cinches the waist and amplifies the bust - a signature of the brand’s sultry tailoring. Beneath, a silk-satin slip in matching red conceals a built-in bra top, its thick straps are subtly visible through the tulle, heightening the underwear-as-outerwear aesthetic that the brand is known for. The slip fastens with a hidden red tonal zip whilst the dress fastens with a hidden silver-tone metal zip at the back.
